When was the last time you cried for the Lord?
Last Feb 10, 2013, an advanced valentines topic which our humble Pastor Ling shared to us during the sunday service. Forgive me, for it has been almost 2 weeks ago in which Im just able to share it now. Well anyways, by God’s love it will always be a valentine. ;)
So the title of the Gospel is also the title of this post. ;) Hahaha. Weird me.
I’m going to start a chapter and a verse from Luke 6:45, which it says;
“Above all else, guard your heart. For it is the wellspring of Life."
Woah God, you’ve said a lot from this. You swept me away. You know, right after our Pastor welcomed us with this verse, i knew that He was literally talking to me. That He addresses these words to me. Because during those times before i went to church, i really am so disturbed about my physical heart condition. Not about you know, petty love-heart condition. If you think of it, cause, im absolutely filled with love. ;) And on the spur of the moment, i can’t help it, but just let my tears do the free-falling.
I learned day by day that we always have the “ACCUSER” in our lives. Not just some random or relevant persons, but you itself is. Accuser definitely means like waiting for someone to be mistaken. We need to be careful always, but how? Simply feed your heart with His words (bible) then you’re secured of obeying Him in his message in regards of guarding our hearts. Now the body of which our gospel is relating to is from John 11:31-35. This where we could find something that if we don’t go beyond depth of his words, we’ll misinterpret it. Because if we could literally understand the scenario here, it is Jesus’ first rejection to his beloved. But if we try to dig in more, we’ll realized that Jesus only delays but never denies us. God allow pain to reveal your true color, dont you know that? ;)
So let me share the story and my understanding about Martha and Mary who both lost their only brother LAZARUS, and which, they are the closest to Jesus. But it seems, Jesus’ wasn’t able to come on time which made Lazarus depart from his body. If you where the Mary and Martha on those time, how will you feel and react towards Jesus? Which you knew in the first place that He’s the only answer to keep their only beloved brother Lazarus be saved from the death? A lot of people who got hurt, forget to respect the Lord. Hurting, circumstances are allowed to God, to know your response. Remember, our God can make the dead body come alive. Jesus arrived at the tomb of Lazarus and Martha who’s in pain and tears, saw Him.Martha cried out in hurting to Jesus, Jesus replied, “I am the resurrection and the life.” While Mary, she simply knelt before Jesus and humbly wept in pain and in tears. Jesus’ was moved. What God attracts, when you humbly yourself in tears. Remember, in Heaven, there’s a book of tears. Tears, is a picture of brokenness and transparency. So it is very ok to cry it all, humbly. ;) In Psalms 126:5
Those who sow in tears wil reap with songs of JOY! Wow God, why are you so amazing. I can even cry now with JOY!!!
The people who are hurting, its their choice, what they want must get it. They don’t have God. But instead they blame God. Sad reality right? Hope where not one of them or even just we’re one of trying not to be like it. Life is not getting what you want, but what you deserve. And you, we deserve to have a good life. But in the passage of the bible, Martha wants it immediately. You know, HURTINGs, reminds you (us), we have SAVIOR! Jesus is greater than our pain, our future hurts. That’s one of God’s test. I recommend or atleast encourage you to follow Mary when she got hurt. Lazarus, was the pic of the problem. Not everything we are used to, is a good thing. We must accept of what we really are in this world. Everything here is temporary, we all know that from the beginning we developed our sense of maturity. But we will never stop in developing our FAITH.
So when was the last time you cried for the Lord? Just atleast then, give everything to the Lord, during worship! Because of Mary’s brokenness, God reassure Lazarus! Boom. He’s amazing, simply amazing! I stand in awe to Him! Ikaw na jud LORD. Here’s more of Jesus’ amazingness just because He was so moved of Mary’s humble tears. In John 11:40-45;
Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”
When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.
Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
(A plot to Kill Jesus)
Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did,believed in him.
Also in this passage, God reveals his mercy to the cries of the humble tears,
The highest cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all the troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
And lastly in Psalms 51:17, he said;
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. God, you will not despise a broken and humbled heart.
God will not reject those who are broken. Don’t pretend to be ok, when you’re not! Instead, call out in God’s name and humbly be in tears brethren.
Hope you’re blessed, remember it is always ok to cry for Jesus’. :)
